Alyssia’s Magical Mindfulness Series

I am a mother of two girls, so I know what it can feel like when your child is struggling to understand and cope with the various emotions they experience. As a parent you want to support them in any way you can. This inspired me to create a series of books, to support children in learning different tools and techniques that they can use to calm their mind and body in a fun and magical way.

Alyssia is a sensitive little girl who loves magic. In each story Alyssia’s Mummy teaches her a new mindfulness technique that she can add to her magic set including deep breathing, visualisation, grounding and more. These techniques help Alyssia to calm her nerves and anxiety about her first day at school, and reduce her anger and overwhelm following an argument with her younger sister for example.

Practicing mindfulness techniques such as these with children can help them to better understand their emotions, cope with stress and anxiety, build confidence, and handle the challenging or uncomfortable situations they may experience in their lives in a healthy way. The earlier we teach these techniques to children the greater the opportunity to support them in leading calm and happy lives.
